Welcome to this silent hour of reflection and readings. An opportunity to spend some time reflecting on the death of Jesus Christ and its meaning for you today.

Other events for all
Good Friday film at 6.30pm at LF Fountains of Grace, South Street
Stainer’s Crucifixion at 7.30pm at St Faith & St Laurence Church, Balden Road

On the original Good FridayCrown of Thorns
Jesus was arrested and tried in a mock trial.
He was handed over to Roman soldiers to be beaten and flogged with whips.
A crown of long, sharp thorns was thrust upon his head.

Jesus was forced to carry his own cross outside Jerusalem to Golgotha meaning Skull Hill.
Jesus was nailed to the cross. At 3pm he died.

Christians believe that Jesus stood in our place.
His death paid the penalty, not for his own wrong doings but for ours.
