Harvest Thanks from Karis Neighbour Scheme

Karis Neighbour Scheme

Dear all at St John’s
Thank you so much for your donation of food as part of your harvest collection. We are always bowled over by people’s generosity at this time of year to provide for people in need and it is sadly much needed at the moment.

We are working increasingly closely with the Birmingham Central Foodbank, our local Trussell Trust Foodbank, to ensure that people in crisis get emergency food parcels and have been able to support them with the food you’ve given.

This is a blessing as they have just opened a new warehouse and distribution centre this week and we have been helping to fill their shelves ahead of opening doors at the new centre.

The foodbank support hundreds of people in and around Ladywood and currently give out around 80 to 100 food parcels every week, a number of which has nearly doubled since the start of the year and is only expected to increase over the winter.

That staggering need is only met because of generous giving such as yours, so thank you for your part in helping to offer hope and dignity to people in crisis. We really appreciate your continued support and partnership in our work.

With many thanks,
Harry Naylor
